Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) on Saturday announced the dates for assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana.
The voting will be held on October 21 and the vote counting will be done on October 24 while the last date for nomination will is October 4. Moreover, the scrutiny of the nominated candidates will be done by October 5 while the last date of withdrawal is October 7.
The process to carry out one-phase Maharashtra assembly election will conclude on October 27. In 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, almost 8.94 crore registered voters will participate.

The CEC informed that there is a ₹28 lakh-cap on poll expenditure per candidate.
There is a Rs 28 lakh-cap on poll expense on each candidate. We appeal the candidates to use environment-friendly materials. We reassure all the stakeholders about the quality of electronic voting machines," Arora said.
