Congress earlier announced its first list of 51 candidates for the assembly elections in Maharashtra which are scheduled on October 21. Congress is contesting 2019 Maharashtra assembly election in alliance with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has also released its first list of five candidates. This happened after Congress and NCP resolved the seat-sharing issue while declaring that both the parties will contest the assembly elections on 125 seats each and the remaining 38 seats will be given to the smaller allies.
The list announced by Congress includes party’s Maharashtra unit President Balasaheb Thorat, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Vijay Wadettiwar and Congress Legislative leader KC Padvi. Ashok Chavan has been fielded from Bokar assembly constituency while Nitin Raut will contest the polls from Nagpur North.
Moreover, Pariniti Shinde, daughter of senior Congress leader Sushil Kumar Shinde has been fielded from Solapur central constituency.
Congress has trusted its sitting MLAs with the hope to win the assembly elections in Maharashtra. The party has given a ticket to Vishwajit Patangrao Kadam from Palus-Kadgaon and Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh from Latur city.

Congress has fielded Jishan Siddiqui, son of former party MLA Baba Siddiqui, from Bandra East while Naseem Khan has been fielded from Chandivali constituency. Moreover, Ameen Patil will contest assembly polls on Congress ticket from Mumbadevi.
