Maharashtra government announces seventh pay commission for its employees

Ahead of New Year's Eve, it is happy news for at least the government employees across Maharashtra. After a long wait, Maharashtra government on Thursday announced its seventh pay commission. The pay commission was passed in a cabinet meeting and it will increase the salaries of the employees from ₹5,000 to ₹14,000. 

The government employees were demanding the seventh pay commission from the past several months and finally, it will be implemented from January 1, 2019.

Earlier, the government had ignored the demands and the employees had threatened to go on a strike. The seventh pay commission announced by the state government will benefit almost 17 lakh employees.
