Azad Maidan - Kopardi gangrape & murder actuated silent protests by Marathas. Maratha Seva Sangh & Sambhaji Brigade gathered in Azad Maidan to raise their voice for Maratha reservations. Dr. Shivanand Bhanuse asked Maratha leaders to call for a special meeting or file their resignation. The protestors have multiple demands, chief among them being amendments to the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, which has allegedly been misused to the detriment of the community, as well as reservations in education and employment. This protest is for the benefit of Maratha community, told leaders at the rally.
