The newly elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Panvel Municipal Corporation formally assumed charge and immediately reviewed pressing civic issues, placing water scarcity at the top of their agenda.

During their first official meeting, they discussed the ongoing water shortage affecting several nodes of Panvel, including rapidly developing residential areas, and stressed the need for both immediate relief measures and long-term planning. Coordination with agencies such as CIDCO and state water authorities was highlighted as crucial to ensuring a stable and sustainable water supply.

The new leadership also outlined development priorities, including strengthening educational infrastructure through the construction of new schools in growing neighbourhoods. Addressing unauthorised encroachments, particularly in weekly market areas, was another key focus, with instructions issued for coordinated enforcement drives and better resource allocation.

Emphasising accountability and efficiency, the Mayor directed civic officials to prepare structured action plans to resolve core infrastructure challenges and improve service delivery, signalling a proactive start to the new administration’s tenure.
