After Raj Thackeray’s ED episode, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is making an effort to gain momentum in the political arena. MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Monday confirmed that his party will contest 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections which are scheduled on October 21.
While talking to the media in Bandra, Thackeray asserted that MNS will contest the assembly elections while expressing that they will also win the same. Thackeray also announced that MNS will begin its election campaign on October 5.
We will contest the assembly elections and shall also win. The candidates and the seat information will be announced in the next coming days,” said Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray.
As per internal sources, MNS plan to field its candidates on nearly 125 assembly seats in Maharashtra. However, Raj Thackeray did not confirm the same. During his address at a meeting with party officials, the MNS chief also remained silent regarding the possibility of an alliance.
If MNS contests on 125 or more assembly seats in Maharashtra, it can leave a dent in the vote bank of Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance and emerge as a 'king maker'.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena corporator from Nashik Dilip Datar and Narendra Patil, son of farmer Dharma Patil who committed suicide at Mantralya, joined MNS in the presence of Raj Thackeray.
