Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis put up billboards across the city to promote himself using the title "Devabhau." However, many of these advertisements also feature the image of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and have been placed in inappropriate locations such as areas filled with garbage, dirt, and unsanitary conditions.

At Prabhadevi Railway Station, for instance, posters have been seen in filthy alleys where people spit on them, leading to serious criticism. Congress State President Harshvardhan Sapkal alleged that the revered icon of Maharashtra is being insulted due to Fadnavis's personal publicity campaign.

Reacting strongly, Sapkal asked, “Devendra Fadnavis, why is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj being disrespected in your quest for fame? Who gave you the right to place his image in areas used for spitting and dumping garbage?”

He further questioned whether this was a deliberate act, pointing out that, given the pattern of repeated disrespect towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by RSS and BJP leaders, this too may not be accidental.

"Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the pride of Maharashtra," Sapkal added. "Placing his image near garbage dumps is an insult to the entire state. Fadnavis, who is using Maharaj’s image to cling to power, must issue a public apology."
