All flyovers in Mumbai should be repaired immediately and a new layer (resurfacing) should be applied to the road surface. These works should be completed by February. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also ordered the establishment of a separate cell for quality control of this work on Tuesday.

A meeting was held at the Ministry under the chairmanship of Shinde to review the current status and repair work of all flyovers in Mumbai. Deputy Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Navin Sona, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, MMRDA Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) Managing Director Anil Kumar Gaikwad were present on this occasion.

There are a total of 24 flyovers in Mumbai, five with MSRDA and 19 with MEP, and the process of transferring them to the BMC is underway. However, Deputy CM  Shinde said that these flyovers should be repaired immediately after the monsoon season is over. All these roads should be resurfaced. The Deputy CM also ordered that the roads be smoothed by removing potholes on a war footing in places where the roads have become rough.

The 42 flyovers under the jurisdiction of the BMC should also be repaired immediately. The Urban Development Department should supervise this repair work. The Deputy Chief Minister has also given instructions to repair the Atal Setu, while saying that a quality control cell consisting of experts should be set up for this.
