The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), led by Raj Thackeray, has extended its support to social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is staging an indefinite hunger strike in New Delhi over the alleged NEET examination paper leak and other recruitment exam irregularities.
Backing Wangchuk's agitation, MNS leaders said the protest is not about politics but about safeguarding the future of students across the country. The party accused the BJP-led central government of failing to take responsibility for repeated examination irregularities and demanded accountability from those in power.
MNS criticized the Centre for remaining silent despite growing concerns over alleged paper leaks, saying the issue has affected the careers and aspirations of lakhs of students. The party also questioned why the government had not responded to Wangchuk's demands even as his health continued to deteriorate during the hunger strike.
The party urged citizens and political organisations to rise above political differences and support the movement, describing it as a fight for transparency, fairness, and the future of India's youth.
Sonam Wangchuk has been on an indefinite fast at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, demanding action over the NEET paper leak controversy and broader examination reforms. His protest has drawn support from several political leaders and public figures in recent days.
