Hundreds of NEET aspirants staged a protest at Mumbai's Azad Maidan on Thursday, demanding a fresh examination and a high-level probe into the alleged paper leak and irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).

The protesting students alleged that the integrity of the examination had been compromised due to the paper leak and other irregularities. They demanded that the examination be conducted again to ensure fairness for all candidates.

Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan visited the protest site and met the students. He assured them that their concerns would be conveyed to the Central Government and the National Testing Agency (NTA). He also appealed to the students to maintain peace while pursuing their demands.

The protest also received support from education reformer and environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk, who expressed solidarity with the students. He reiterated the need for a transparent and accountable examination system, stating that students' futures should not be jeopardised due to administrative failures.

The students maintained that a fair and credible entrance examination is essential for merit-based admissions to medical colleges and urged the authorities to take immediate corrective measures.

The protest at Azad Maidan remained peaceful, with students continuing to press for a re-examination, strict action against those responsible for the alleged paper leak, and comprehensive reforms to ensure transparency in future entrance examinations.
