Opposition parties protest Aamir’s ad on polling day

Mumbai - All the prominent parties including the Congress, the NCP and the Shiv Sena have objected to the advertisement of Mumbai First, an NGO, featuring actor Aamir Khan in it on the day of voting for the BMC elections. The advertisement stresses a word – transparency –prominently.

This advertisement has appeared in almost all the newspapers in the city. Opposition parties have alleged that the BJP has used the word transparency more prominently. They have also claimed that chief minister Devendra Fadnavis is associated with the NGO Mumbai First. All these political parties have decided to file a complaint against this advertisement.

Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant has demanded that Election Commission should take action against the BJP for breach of election code of conduct. Meanwhile, city BJP president Ashish Shelar said that Election Commission is looking into this complaint and will the necessary action after investigation.
