After strong speculations of Congress leader Milind Deora contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai South Central constituency, sources informed that Former Congress MP Priya Dutt may contest the upcoming LS poll.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi on March 1 launched his political campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Maharashtra elections in Mumbai. Priya Dutt met Rahul Gandhi during his visit on Friday. According to sources, the former MP will contest the LS poll against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Poonam Mahajan.

Earlier in 2014, Mahajan won the Mumbai North Central LS constituency and defeated Dutt. However, the Congress leader had expressed that she won’t contest the upcoming polls due to personal reasons. However, many party leaders asked Dutt to change her mind as the former MP has a mass base.
