Nariman Point- Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar is also known at the architect of our constitution. Ironically, the official administrative building of the Government of Maharashtra, Mantralay, does not have the picture of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on its walls.
On Tuesday, on the eve of the anniversary of Rohit Vemula, there was a silent protest by RPI Bahujan Mahasabha at Mantralaya, demanding that along with the pictures of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rastramata Jijou, there should also be the picture of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Just like Trimurti- Bramha Vishnu and Mahesh, the trimurti of Maharastra should be very clearly visible at Mantralay.
The protest was led by the secretary of RPI Bahujan Mahasabha at Mantralay, Pravin Bhotkar.
