In the ongoing counting for assembly elections in five states, Congress’ majority share of votes in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh is considered as a big blow to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While the regional parties including Mizo National Front (MNF) and Telangana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS) won majority votes in Mizoram and Telangana, respectively, the Madhya Pradesh’s mandate is a neck-to-neck fight for both the national parties.
Reacting to the fall of BJP in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday attacked BJP and said that people have started rejecting BJP’s trend and have taught the national party a lesson. This defeat calls for BJP to introspect for ignoring its allies and people, Raut said. Shiv Sena and BJP are allies in Maharashtra.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray also commented on five state assembly polls and said, “voters have rejected the unwanted (BJP), congratulations to them”. Voters have rejected BJP without bothering about the alternative, said Thackeray.

The ongoing counting in five states depicts the end of “Modi Wave” and BJP’s winning trend. The people’s mandate of three states including Rajasthan, MP, and Chhattisgarh have rejected BJP where the party once ruled with a majority share of votes. To this, Raut said that BJP has been defeated because of people’s anger while Congress took a high lead.
The Chief Ministerial candidate of the states have not been announced and the final suspense regarding MP’s mandate is still pending. However, it is confirmed that Congress will form the government in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. Congress activists in Delhi have started celebrating outside their headquarter at Akbar Raod while in Mumbai the celebration began outside Tilak Bhawan in Dadar.
