Speaking on the recent arrests of Elgar Parishad’s activists in connection with the Bhima-Koregaon Violence, MoS Ramdas Athavale on Friday said that both of these are separate cases and they don’t have any connection. He said that if the arrested individuals do not have any involvements with the Maoists, he will help them.

The police had arrested members of Elgaar Parishad accused of using the money provided by the Maoists and on the claim that Naxalites also are a part of Elgaar Parishad. Athawale said that if they support Ambedkar, they would never have relations with Naxalites. He further added that “I would appeal to all the followers of Ambedkar to not get linked with the Naxalites.”
