Dadar – The Tatkares in the NCP received a setback on Sunday as Sandip Tatkare, brother of NCP MLA Avdhoot Tatkare and nephew of State NCP chief Sunil Tatkare, joined the Shiv Sena here on Sunday. Along with him, a large number of his followers also joined the party in the presence of Union Minister Anant Geete and Shiv Sena contact head Aadesh Bandekar. Speaking on the occasion, Sandip Tatkare said, “I had demanded the candidature for the post of municipal council president. It is the right of the state president. I have not discussed this issue with my brother and father. It is my own decision. I had no post in the NCP and it is my entry into the politics.” Sena leader and Union minister Anant Geete said, “This is just the beginning of the game. There are many PWD leaders who are going to join Shiv Sena in next few days. Tatkare is an independent candidate fighting for Roha municipal council president’s post. We have supported his candidature.” It is to be remembered here that Sandip Tatkare had shown his inclination towards Shiv Sena when he had welcome Uddhav Thackeray at Roha recently. It would be interesting to see what Tatkares’ decide ahead of the crucial polls.
