Senior Union Leader Sharad Rao passes away

Mumbai’s Auto Rickshawmen’s Union’s leader Sharad Rao today passed away at Nanavati hospital. 75 years old breathed his last in the noon. Ailing from serious illness, he was being treated at Nanawati hospital. He is survived by his son, daughter & bother in law, who resides outside India and grandchildren. His family will carry out funeral rites on Saturday. Tomorrow his body will be kept at Goregaon’s Auto Rickshaw Men’s Union office for his followers. Family will carry out funeral rites on Saturday. 

Sharad Rao started working at BEST

He worked under veteran socialist leader George Fernandes

He led hawkers union, municipal union, Rickshaw taxi chalak union, BEST workers union with ease

He also contested MLA elections on NCP ticket 

Mah CM Devendra Fadanvis expressed grief over Sharad Rao’s death, mentioning that workers have lost an inspirational leader. Mill Worker Union Leader Datta Iswalkar also expressed the same. He added that late Sharad Rao ruled his era as a veteran union leader.
