Shiv Sena opposes BJP MP Kirit Somaiya’s nomination

Amid the ongoing tussle between Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kirit Somaiya, the Sena yet again highlighted their opposition against Somaiya contesting Lok Sabha election from Mumbai North-East seat. Somaiya is the sitting MP from the same LS constituency. 

In a meeting, several Shiv Sena leaders on Tuesday raised their complaints against the BJP MP to Maharashtra  Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and opposed the idea of Somaiya contesting the LS poll which will be held in April this year.

Earlier, Shiv Sena had clarified before joining hands with the BJP for LS poll that they would work against Kirit Somaiya if he is nominated to contest from Mumbai North-East seat. BJP has named all its candidates from Mumbai except Somaiya’s seat.
