State awards the contract to L&T to build Shivaji Maharaj memorial

The most awaited and much-delayed 210-meter-high statue of Shivaji Maharaj will soon be a reality as the state government awarded the contract to Larsen &Toubro by giving the letter of acceptance on Thursday who will build the project at a cost of ₹3,600 Cr

The said project is to be built on 6.8 hectares in the middle of the Arabian Sea off the Malabar Hill in South Mumbai. Initially, the cost of the project is ₹260 Cr which later escalated to ₹3,600 Cr.

We were constantly following up with the memorial so that it inspires the upcoming generation. This memorial will be the extraordinary memorial across the world,” Vinayak Mete, Chairman, Chhatrapati Shivaji Memorial Committee & Shiv Sangram Party legislator.

The Shivaji memorial will have a temple, museum, hospital, entrance replicating the Raigad Fort, which was the headquarters of the late emperor. Along with this, there will be a theatre which will showcase highlights of the Shivaji Maharaj’s life.
