The ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Navi Mumbai has raised concerns over the possible removal of thousands of voters’ names from the voter list. The verification exercise is being conducted to update and authenticate electoral records. Voters have been asked to complete the required verification process by August 17.
Officials have expressed concern over the low response to the campaign. Voters who fail to complete the required process may face difficulties in retaining their names on the electoral roll, subject to the prescribed verification procedure.
The exercise aims to identify discrepancies such as duplicate entries, shifted voters and other inaccuracies in the electoral rolls.
Authorities have urged eligible voters to complete the SIR process before the deadline and verify that their names and details are correctly recorded.
The revision is expected to have a significant impact on the electoral roll in Navi Mumbai, with the possibility that thousands of names could be removed following the verification process.
