Maharashtra Govt in favour of bringing petroleum products under GST: Sudhir Mungantiwar

In order to bring down the multiple taxes, State Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar has urged the opposition party, Congress, to direct its government in the states to support Maharashtra government’s proposal to bring petroleum products under the purview of Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The minister said that their government has done its bit in reducing state taxes on petrol and diesel. He further added that some of the Congress-ruled states were not supporting the proposal to bring petroleum products under GST.

Mungantiwar said that an important meeting of the GST Council is scheduled on September 28, 2018, where the proposal will be discussed.
