Mumbai police to get biggest housing project in Panvel with 8000 houses

Be it a common man or police, everyone dreams of buying a new house in Mumbai. When it comes to Mumbai police, though they have police quarters, either they are in dilapidated condition or have no space for other police families. Considering a need of the hour, in 2012, the state government gave 107-acre land for policemen.

After receiving the land, 6,000 policemen came together and bought the land for INR 1.20 lakh. Now in the next three years, 8,000 houses will be built on this land and tenders will be invited for the same on January 10, 2018.

Police widows will get houses as well

650 sq feet houses will be built on a 107-acre land which will be handed over to the police officers and their widows by levying construction cost. The work has been handed over to Shashi Prabhu company who will look after the architecture. As this project falls under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, families of police officers will receive INR 2.5 lakh in return.
