ITM IHM students participate in a bike rally to spread awareness about road safety

Taking into consideration the safety of daily commuters, Turbhe Traffic police in association with ITM Institute of Hotel Management, Navi Mumbai organised a bike rally for helmet awareness and road safety with 60 bikes, 90 students and 20 staff covering the distance of 20 kms starting from the Nerul Campus of ITM IHM to Nerul Railway Station-Juinagar- Sanpada and back to the campus.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Purva Tawade, Principal ITM-IHM Navi Mumbai said “It is indeed a proud moment for students of the Institute of Hotel Management to participate in the rally and spread awareness on road safety towards the significance of using helmets. People may feel uncomfortable in the beginning but patience introduces to good habits. ITM IHM is grateful to the Turbhe Traffic Police for supporting the initiative with the Institution.”

The flag off of the rally was done by Mr. Arun Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai and Prof. Purva Tawade, Principal ITM-IHM Navi Mumbai.

Road safety education is an important ingredient in improving safety towards human life, reducing accidents, and fatalities from these accidents. The aim and objective of the event was to create awareness for safety measures while driving and educate the society which was fulfilled by the drive.
