Mumbai is expected to experience a partly cloudy sky along with light to moderate rainfall across the city and suburban areas on Sunday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather department stated that while most areas are likely to receive moderate showers, isolated parts of the island city could witness heavier rainfall during the early hours of the day.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also advised residents to remain alert as intermittent rainfall is expected to continue throughout the day. People living in low-lying and coastal areas have been urged to exercise caution due to the afternoon high tide, which may lead to temporary waterlogging in vulnerable locations.
Meanwhile, Mumbai's water reserves remain in a healthy condition. The city's seven lakes, which supply drinking water to millions of residents, are currently filled to 89.08 percent of their total storage capacity, providing a comfortable water stock for the coming weeks.
Authorities have advised commuters to stay updated with official weather bulletins and civic advisories before planning travel, especially in flood-prone areas.
