Mumbai- BMC offices are generally packed with citizens apply for Birth and Death certificates. Occasionally you are also made to run from pillar to post.
Henceforth, people will be able to get their birth and death certificates on a click of a button. Birth certificates post 1990 and death certificates post 1988 will be available online. Because of this move, almost 80,000,00 birth and death certificates will be available online.
“These certificates will have ‘QR code’ which will authenticate the certificate,” said Dr. Padmaja Keskar, health officer, BMC.
Death certificates from 1998 till 31st December 2015 has been restored through Enterprise Resource Planning and the same is done for the birth certificates. Soon, people will get access to these certificates on www.crsorgi.gov.in.
