A recently released news reported stated that the AC mini bus route 101 being which runs from CSMT to S P Mukherjee Chowk (Museum area) was to be discontinued. However, after receiving requests from passengers, the BrihanMumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking, on Friday, decided to re-instated the A-101 bus service.
As per the earlier announcement, the service of A101 was to be discontinued on February 19, 2020, as it did not see enough footfalls on this route. In addition to this, it was noted that there was a higher demand on the route A-111, which is similar to A-101. Hence, officials announced that all buses on the route A-101 were absorbed on the A-111 route.
However, the commuters on Route A-101 complained that after this bus service discontinued they had to resort back to taking shared taxis which charge almost Rs 20 per seat. Considering their demands in mind, officials have now decided to resume the service.
The mini AC bus service has been a hit ever since it started. It offers a comfortable ride and at an economical cost. BEST had started its AC bus service to increase the occupancy of its service. There was also a rate cut announced last year and under the same, the AC bus costs INR 6 for a journey of 5km or less.
