MSRDC’s cashback scheme to the FASTag users get good response

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has made usage of FASTag mandatory for all vehicles in the country from February 15, 2021.

In the last seven days, around 3,45,155 vehicle owners were given a refund of INR 19.8 lakhs as Mumbai-Pune Expressway and Rajiv Gandhi Sagari Setu (Bandra-Worli) toll-plaza under the jurisdiction of the MSRDC is giving a five per cent discount (cashback) to FASTag holder vehicles from 11 January 2021,

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced an incentive cashback scheme for vehicle owners to increase the number of vehicles using FASTag.

Meanwhile, in the last seven days from January 11 to 17, a total of 3,45,155 vehicles took advantage of this concession at Yashwantrao Chavan Mumbai-Pune Expressway and Bandra-Worli Rajiv Gandhi Sea Bridge. MSRDC credited INR 19.8 lakhs to the driver's FASTag account for the refund of the concession amount.

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has appointed Maharashtra State Road Development Corporations as the nodal agency for developing the necessary infrastructure for FASTag system at roadblocks across the state. Under this Yashwantrao Chavan Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Satara-Kagal National Highway, Rajiv Gandhi Sagari Setu (Bandra-Worli) as well as Mumbai entry point under Vashi, Mulund (East Expressway), Mulund (Lal Bahadur Shastri), Airoli Pathkar Naka is included. The corporation is in the final stages of preparation for 100 per cent implementation of the FASTag system.

To increase the number of vehicles with FASTag, stalls have been set up at Bandra-Worli Sea Bridge, Pathkar Naka, Khalapur, Talegaon, Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Food Malls, Petrol Pumps, with the help of various banks. FASTag system has been developed to make the journey of vehicles passing through toll-plazas cashless and faster.
