Harbour Line local trains to speed up; Will run at 105 kmph

Commuters travelling on the Harbour line have all reasons to be happy as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSTM) to Panvel will get faster by 15 minutes, as the Central Railway soon will increase the speed of the local trains between Mankhurd and Panvel to 105 kmph from the current 80 kmph.

The proposal of the same has been sent to the headquarters. Once it gets approved, Mumbaikars will get to commute in the harbour local which will run at the speed of 105 kmph,” SK Jain, divisional railway manager, CR.

The CR has geared up for the coming monsoon season in terms of cleaning railway stations. So far, 75,000 cubic metre waste, debris has been picked up from railway stations. Along with this, the railways and the BMC will complete their first joint inspection on April 7, 2018.
