Mumbai: Tesla announces the launch of its first Supercharging station in India

Tesla has announced the launch of its first Supercharging station in India. After opening its first showroom in Mumbai, the company has now brought its first Supercharging station to the city.

This is the first showroom in the country. These supercharging stations are said to offer extremely fast charging speeds for Tesla cars. They are said to be able to provide a range of almost 300 km in just 14 minutes of charging.

The Tesla charging station has been set up at One BKC in the Bandra-Kurla Complex. It has four V4 Supercharging stalls (DC charging) and four destination charging stalls (AC charging), the company said. This is one of several Supercharging stations that Tesla plans to install in Mumbai.

The supercharging stalls offer a peak charging speed of 250 kW which is priced at Rs 24/kW and Rs 11/kW for 11 kW charging speed. Currently, the charging speed offered at this station is 11 kW.

Tesla is now preparing to open a new showroom in Delhi soon. It will also launch four new charging stations in New Delhi, which will have 16 Superchargers and 15 destination chargers. Tesla is set to launch charging stations in key areas of Mumbai, including Lower Parel, Navi Mumbai, and Thane.

Tesla is currently taking car orders through its website in most states in India. Customers from multiple regions can now place bookings, but priority delivery will be given to Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Gurugram. Now the eligible states include Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and more. Currently, only the Model Y is available for pre-order and its price starts at INR 59.89 lakh.
