Indian Railways Approves New Daily Express Between Mumbai CSMT and Sawantwadi Road

Indian Railways has approved a new daily express train connecting Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) with Sawantwadi Road in Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district, improving rail connectivity between Mumbai and the Konkan region.

The new service will operate every day and halt at 22 stations along the route, providing passengers with a convenient travel option to several important towns across the Konkan belt. The train is expected to benefit daily commuters, tourists, and residents travelling between Mumbai and coastal Maharashtra.

The introduction of the daily express is aimed at meeting the growing demand for rail services on the busy Konkan route while enhancing connectivity and boosting tourism and regional development.

Railway officials said the detailed timetable, fare structure, and booking schedule will be announced separately before the train begins operations.
