A continuous ticket checking campaign is underway on Konkan Railway and strict action is being taken against passengers traveling without tickets. In the current financial year, 1.82 lakh passengers were caught on Konkan Railway and a fine of INR 12.81 crore was collected from them. Konkan Railway is implementing a ticket checking campaign to curb ticketless passengers and ensure safe, comfortable travel for authorised passengers.
5,493 special ticket checking campaigns were conducted between April and September 2025. These campaigns detected 1,82,781 cases of ticketless and irregular ticket passengers. As a result, INR 12.81 crore was recovered as railway ticket fare and fine. 920 special inspection missions were conducted in October 2025 alone. In this, 42,645 ticketless passengers were caught. A fine of INR 2.40 crore was collected from them.
Konkan Railway has appealed to all passengers to purchase valid tickets before commencing their journey. Traveling without a valid ticket is a crime. The Konkan Railway administration informed that the focus will be on the entire route and the ticket checking campaign will continue in the future.
