The week began on a sour note this morning when three wagons and a brake van of a goods train derailed near the Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar station on the down side of the Central Railway's harbour line at 4 am, throwing rail services out of gear.

While railway authorities made regular announcements to avoid chaos, rail services were hit between CST and Kurla. However, the CR started services between CST and Panvel and CST and Andheri. For five hours however, no local train ran between Kurla and Panvel, CST and Andheri.

Services were restored when the Central Railway started a special local from Kurla to CST on the harbour line at 09.41 am.
