MMRDA to extend Metro 7 and Metro 4 routes

To strengthen Mumbai's traffic system, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has decided to extend the Metro 7 and Metro 4 routes.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has offered a helping hand to extend Metro 7 route - from Dahisar to Andheri to Airport. This information was given by MMRDA senior officer P R K Murti. Along with Metro 7, MMRDA will also extend Metro 4 from Wadala to GPO and further, from Kasarvadavli to Ghodbunder. Also, the Metro, proposed to run till Dahisar will run till Mira- Bhayander.   

Currently, Dahisar to Andheri is a 16.5 km stretch and after extension, it will be a 19.5 km stretch. This project is estimated to cost Rs. 6,208 crore and post extension, the cost will go up by Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2000 crore.
