Mumbai - Traffic congestion, already bad on the Western Express highway, is poised to turn worse with the MMRDA soon to start work on two new metro lines - Metro-2B running between Dahisar - DN Nagar and Metro-7 running between Dahisar (East) - Andheri (East).

This could result in a 'metro block' with some routes being closed for traffic. Work on these routes will go on for the next four to five years. The MMRDA has professed its readiness to deal with the issue - 5000 barricades will be installed across the highway and additional corps of traffic police will be deployed along the affected routes, additional Metropolitan Commissioner Pravin Darade said, when contacted.
