The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has started a state-of-the-art electric AC bus service between Borivali and Nashik. This service will run on the Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Highway.
This service has started from Thursday, December 4, 2025. It is expected that the travel time of citizens traveling from the western suburbs of Mumbai to Nashik will be significantly reduced.
65 electric buses added to fleet
According to MSRTC officials, this initiative has been taken to reduce carbon emissions and provide a safer, more comfortable and eco-friendly travel experience to passengers. Promoting sustainable transport, MSRTC has inducted 65 new electric buses into its fleet. These buses are being deployed to ply on important routes like Nashik-Borivali, Nashik-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Daily Schedule: 11 trips in both directions
According to the officials, 11 bus trips have been arranged daily on the Nashik-Borivali route in both directions. The first bus from Borivali leaves at 5 am. After that, buses will be available at 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, 10 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 5 pm.
On the return journey, the first bus from Nashik leaves at 5 am. Later buses will leave at 6 am, 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, 10 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm.
Uniform fare on all routes
The MSRTC has kept the fare uniform for all routes. The full fare has been fixed at INR 509 for Mumbai-Nashik, Nashik-Mumbai and Nashik-Sambhajinagar services. Half fare will be INR 255, while the fare for women will be INR 266.
The new electric bus service was inaugurated by Nashik District Collector Ayush Prasad (IAS). Regional Manager Vijay Geete, Divisional Controller Sachin Kshirsagar and other officials were present on the occasion.
