Mumbai Railway authorities have announced a mega block on the Central and Harbour railway lines on Sunday to carry out essential maintenance and infrastructure work. The block will affect local train services on multiple routes, and commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly.
On the Central Railway, the mega block will be operated on the Up and Down slow lines between Matunga and Mulund stations from 11:05 am to 3:55 pm. During this period, slow local trains will be diverted to fast lines between Mulund and Matunga, skipping select stations. Some local train services may also run behind schedule.
Meanwhile, on the Harbour Line, a block will be carried out between Panvel and Vashi stations from 11:05 am to 4:05 pm. As a result, local train services on this section will remain suspended during the block period. Special local trains will operate between CSMT Mumbai and Vashi, and between Panvel and Belapur stations.
Railway officials said the maintenance work is necessary for track repairs, signalling upgrades, and overall safety improvements. Commuters have been requested to check revised train schedules before travelling on Sunday to avoid inconvenience.
