Mumbai: Autorickshaw pullers might appeal in HC regarding fare increase

Mumbai Rickshaw Men Union had given the government a deadline of December and demanded to increase the rickshaw fare from INR 23 to INr 25 for the first one and a half km in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, but no action was taken by the government on this. That's why the rickshaw pullers of Mumbai are now going to the High Court.

According to the Khatua Committee formula, rickshaw fare is determined taking into account the Consumer Price Index, cost of purchasing the rickshaw, cost of repairing the rickshaw, insurance and various taxes.
