Generally, whenever a motorist violates traffic rules, Mumbai traffic police send e-challan to collect fine from such traffic violators and this is applicable to VVIPs as well. However, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has still not paid fine worth ₹13,000 for speeding on Mumbai streets.

Right to Information Activist (RTI) Shakeel Ahmed Sheikh received the information via RTI that mentioned that the CM has not paid a fine worth ₹13,000 to date. With the help of MTP app, traffic police trace down the number of VVIP vehicles and charge fine accordingly. CM’s car was found moving at a high speed on many occasions.

As per Ahmed, CM’s car MH-01-CP-0037 and MH-01-0038 was found moving at a high speed on Bandra-Worli Sea Link between January and May 2018. Likewise, traffic police charged a fine worth ₹13,000 which is still pending.
