With a view to increase Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport's (BEST) reach, comfort and make the 'best' of its services, affordable to each and every Mumbaikar, the committee of BEST and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had announced reformative prices and services on Tuesday, June 25.
The 15 fare slabs have been reduced to 4 and the pricing will be as follows:

| Up to 15 | 15 | 19 |
| More than 15 | 20 | 25 |
On Wednesday, July 4, secretary of state of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Transport Authority (MMRTA), Ashish Kumar Singh approved the proposal and stated that the new fares will be applicable from Monday, July 8 as the Government Resolution (GR) will take 2-3 days to amend.
