Navi Mumbai Airport: Maharashtra government forms task force to accelerate construction

The Maharashtra government has constituted a task force among its various departments to coordinate with the work of Navi Mumbai International Airport in order to accelerate the construction. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that a runway of the airport will be operational by the end of this year.

The task force has been asked to ensure and provide the basic facilities such as road, water, electricity connection, and the timely connectivity of the railways to the airport.

The task force appointed by the state government includes secretaries from different state departments – Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner and City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) General Manager. The Central Railway General Manager and the Panvel Municipal Commissioner have also given permission to assist the task force as special invitees.
