With SC nod, all roads cleared for Metro 3

The Supreme Court on Thursday turned down an appeal for an extended stay on the felling of trees in Mumbai for the proposed Metro 3 project.

Upholding the earlier Bombay High Court verdict, the SC lifted the stay on the felling of trees necessitated by the Metro 3 project, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation officials say.

Neena Verma, who had filed a petition against the felling of trees in the Bombay High Court, now has the option of approaching a committee set up by the HC for resolution of the pending issues.
