The city is on a beautification spree. As per reports, better infrastructure and more space will be made available across 19 railway stations in Mumbai; the approval for the same has been sent to the railway board.
This project will be managed by the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC). Based on the developments, elevated decks will be made available on Central, Western and Harbour line stations eventually offering more space where ticket booking offices, foot over bridges (FOBs) and skywalks will be built. The stations have been chosen based on the foot-fall.

As reported in the media, RS Khurana, chairman and managing director, MRVC, said
Development of the station premises and improvement of platforms will help decongest the busy railway stations. Elevated decks at Andheri and Goregaon have proved to be quite useful. An elevated deck costs around ₹40 crore.”
Indian Railway Station Development Corporation Limited (IRSDC) has also been brought to the project to ensure the rebuilding of nine stations as planned by the railway ministry, which involves commercialisation of Kalyan, Dadar, Bandra, Ghatkopar, Sion, Wadala Road, Parel, Kurla and Mumbai Central Terminus.
