Parel Terminus to start operating from first week of March

There is good news for passengers on the Central Railway- Due to the work of the Central Terminal, Parel Terminus is in the final phase and it is expected that the new Parel Terminus will be inaugurated on March 3, 2019. 

Sunil Udasi, the chief public relations officer of Central Railway said that nearly 50 percent of the originating and terminating suburb trains of Dadar Terminus are planned to be extended up to Parel

The Parel Terminus is all set to be inaugurated in the presence of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. Recently the senior officers of the Central Railway inspected the terminus and the work will be completed by end of February.

Currently, Parel station experiences huge crowd as its a major hub for many private and government organizations and hospitals and people travel in the slow train from CSMT station to reach Parel. To regulate this crowd effectively, The CR plans to operate 32 local trains (16 up and 16 down) from the new terminus every day which will enable up to 1.5lakh passengers to travel through Parel station after receiving the board approval.

For the early completion of this work, two big blocks of 9 hours and 5 hours were held on January 20, and January 27 respectively. Parel terminus has been undertaken to divide the crowd of Central Railway's Dadar station with the total expenditure of the project being Rs. 51 crores.
