Attention, Mumbaikars! Vasai to Uttan Dongri RoRo Service To Be Launched Soon

The Maharashtra Maritime Board has started activities to start Ro-Ro services in the future at Nagla Port on Vasai Bay and Uttan Dongri on the west coast.

Under this, jetty will be constructed at both these places.

The state government has formulated a policy to connect the state's coastlines for passengers by sea. This policy is being implemented by the Maharashtra Maritime Board. Under this, jetties will be constructed on the coastlines.

As per reports, all the necessary approval has been received from the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) to construct jetties for Ro-Ro services at Uttan Dongri and Nagla Port.

Under this, jetties of 143 meters long and 10 meters wide will be constructed at both Nagla Port and Uttan.

This jetty is the longest and can accommodate large ships like Ro-Ro. At the same time, a large center for water transport will be constructed by the Maharashtra Maritime Board at both these places.

For this, parking lots, boat ramps and protective walls will also be constructed. In this, a parking lot of 2,025 square meters will be constructed at Nagla Port and 7,200 square meters at Uttan Dongri, a 45.42 meter high protective wall will be constructed at Nagla Port and 60 meter high protective wall at Uttan Dongri.

All these constructions have been approved by the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) along with CRZ along with measures related to mangrove forests. Also, the proposal has been sent to the relevant authority of the Union Environment Ministry for final approval.
