Mumbai local trains for general public: Timings may be revised soon

The local trains, which has been hailed as the lifeline of Mumbai has finally started for the general public from February 1. However, railway authorities have classified three-time slots for the general public - from the first service of the day to 7 am, 12 pm to 4 pm and 9 pm to the end of the day.

The trains between 7 am and 12 pm and between 4 pm and 9 pm are available only for essential services.

Meanwhile, it has come to light that Mumbaikars have expressed disappointment over the timings, the state's health minister Rajesh Tope has made an important statement regarding this.

Taking a note of the displeasure expressed by Mumbaikars, the Health Minister has informed that relief will be provided to the citizens soon. He said, local trains are important for all. If we can do anything about the timings to help the general public, we will definitely follow up with our department. In the end, the interest of the people is the most important for the government. The state government will take a decision recognizing the needs and interests of the people.

Addressing the media, Rajesh Tope said, "Necessary changes will be made in the schedule of local services soon as per the interest and need of the people."
