WR recovers fine of ₹10 Cr from ticketless travellers in Feb

In the month of February, the Western Railway took action against ticketless travellers and recovered fine worth more than ₹10 Cr. The number of ticket-less travellers have increased on WR line hence the WR decided to take action against them.

WR took action against 2.44 lakh commuters and recovered a fine of ₹10.96 Cr. Along with this, 885 beggars and illegal hawkers were ousted from the station. Likewise, 95 people were sent to jail.

Apart from this, WR took action against people who gave their tickets to other commuters. 182 such commuters were fined and 49 students, more than 12 years of age, were taken into custody for travelling in the women’s compartment.
