Mumbai - Hawkers have become omnipresent be it road or railway platforms. Western railway witnessed an increase in the number of hawkers on the stations. In regard with this RPF started its drive against these hawkers. Till date, RPF has collected fine worth rs 12 lakhs. 1,200 hawkers have faced the brunt of the drive helmed by RPF.
RPF Commissioner of Western Railways Anand Jha said," We have written letter to Mira road, Vasai and Virar RPF team in connection with hawkers encroaching on the railway platforms.
