Khar subway is in dilapidated condition and sees a lot of traffic chaos; the Khar and Santacruz residents have alerted of a protest if authorities do not resolve the issue.
The citizens and resident association claims that the subway needs infrastructural development on the stretch. The subway also needs structural audit since the subway is causing safety and security threat.
They have warned the authorities that they will approach the court if no action is taken.
Mumbai North Central District Forum (MNCDF) and Santacruz East Residents Associations started a campaign on Tuesday, September 21. They put up banners outside society gates and voiced their concerns by using social media.
MNCDF, in a series of tweets, wrote that citizens are frustrated over waterlogging, traffic, etc., which are "present in roads leading to & from #KharSubway."

They further said that they stand by the local residents in raising awareness about the issue and have the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and state government formulate a plan for the same.
They have extended their support by asking the residents to DM them, post which their team will install banners on their premises.
