The Western Railways have successfully endured various infrastructural upgradation and development works during the lockdown imposed due to coronavirus pandemic. Under the leadership of Alok Kansal, General Manager, Western Railway has recently constructed a new Foot Over Bridge (FoB) between Bandra and Khar Road stations for the convenience and safety of the passengers.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway, a new foot over bridge has been constructed to prevent and control trespassing in the railway section located between Bandra and Khar Road stations. This new foot over bridge is 247.26 meters long and 6 meters wide. This new foot over bridge will be very convenient for the commuters as it connects the existing foot over bridge at Platform 6/7 of Bandra Terminus with the western end near LC Gate-19. This is the first pedestrian over bridge to be commissioned in the Mumbai suburban section of Western Railway in the financial year 2021-22.

Thakur mentioned that despite the challenging times, Western Railway has ensured that there is no hindrance in the execution of its development works and all the works are completed within the stipulated target date, as the safety and security of the passengers have always been taken care of by Western Railway. It is given top priority. Apart from this, work on other FOBs and ROBs on Western Railway is also in progress.
