Netflix's first global post-production unit to be set up in Mumbai

Global OTT giant, Netflix, in a recent announcement stated that the firm is planning to set up its first post-production facility in the city of Mumbai, and the same is expected to be ready for operations by June 2022. 

The report shared by the Economic Times said that the firm plans on using the same for both Indian and global projects. This will be the first global facility for Netflix and will be used for several activities like live-action, post-production facility, editing, along with designated rooms for different divisions and crew members.

Sharing more information with the publication, Netflix India's Director of post-production, Vijay Venkataramanan said that the team was excited to set up the creative space in Mumbai, thereby reinforcing Netflix's 'commitment to India’s entertainment industry.' He assured that the OTT platform will continue empowering creators in India.

Besides this, the team is also working towards partnering with the post-production community from India. As per the figures shared, Netflix has so far garnered more than 208 million paid subscribers spanning over 190 nations globally.

Earlier this year, Netflix announced the slate of new films and web-series which will release on the platform in 2021.
